The Regis Rally The Regis Rally, now in its seventeenth year as an historic road rally, is the penultimate round of the Richard Egger Insurance HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship. It is, once again, organised by the same team of experienced competitors and we will be continuing with our successful event format. The start and finish for this years event is The Brookfield Hotel, Emsworth, Hants (www.brookfieldhotel.co.uk) (see below), conveniently located close to the A27 and M27. We have put together a 135 mile route in West Sussex and Hampshire, with timed to the second regularities, interspersed with special tests on private ground for the benefit of the drivers. The navigation is set as per the HRCR Championship guidelines but it will retain the Regis characteristics that seem popular with Expert and Novice crews alike. Among the types of navigation included will be Marked Map, Jogularity and Tulips but there will still be straightforward "plot and bash" sections, that should not entail having to stop and plot, with sensible average regularity speeds. We always keep the experts 'on their toes' but still succeed in getting the novice crews around the route without too much difficulty. Introduced for the first time this year, our results will remove each car's worst public road regularity control lateness penalty. This will hopefully remove the pressure of having to recover time lost caused by a delay, however caused, on a regularity section. Included in the entry fee is a light lunch, somewhere in Sussex and a hot supper in The Hermitage Restaurant at The Brookfield Hotel for both members of the crew. The bar will be open for liquid refreshments to either celebrate your success or commiserate over that missed passage check, wrong test etc. If only ....
